Dr Elisabeth Cuervo Lumbaque
Elisabeth graduated from Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas of Bogotá, Colombia (2012) with a chemistry degree.  In 2016, she obtained a master degree in applied chemistry at Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa, Brazil (2016). Later, she continued her studies at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (2020), where she obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry. Her research is focused on the analytical and environmental chemistry, and fate and degradation of emerging contaminants in advanced oxidation processes, including the identification of their transformation products. Elisabeth also has experience in experimental optimization, chromatography, (Q)SAR tools for toxicity risk and science education. In January, 2021, Elisabeth joined the ELECTRON4WATER group to work on the development and application of graphene-based sponge electrodes for the degradation of emerging contaminants in water.
